Bigs and Littles Celebrate the Holidays Carnival Style

Nothing says “Happy Holidays” like racing through an obstacle course or having a lizard crawl around on your shoulders. Bigs and their Littles celebrated the holiday season together at the fifth annual Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands’ Holiday Carnival. The La Vista Recreation Center was transformed into a winter wonderland on Sunday, December 9th.

Over 300 Bigs and Littles competed against each other or tested their skills on a variety of different holiday themed games and activities. Some of the activities included: a 50 foot long inflatable obstacle course, hockey slap shot contest, grumpy Grinch toilet paper toss, winter bingo, snowball wreath toss, and a pop-a-shot basketball challenge. Bigs and Littles also visited a face painting station, had the chance to hold exotic animals from Gifford Farm, decorated and enjoy a holiday sugar cookie, received a special gift from Santa, and enjoyed a popcorn/candy buffet. A total of 17 games and four activity stations were set up at the La VistaRecreation Center for the Holiday Carnival.

The Holiday Carnival is one of the monthly agency activities for Bigs and Littles sponsored by donors and supporters of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands. These free events are not only a lot of fun for the matches, but they also help strengthen their relationship by providing quality one-to-one time together.
