Meet Our New Staff!

Amber C. Nore

Director of Community Engagement

What made you want to work for BBBS? I am a big fan of mentoring! As a foster mom to my niece, I have seen the positive impact that it has on youth. As a non-profit leader, I knew I could bring my passion and experience to the BBBS team and continue to achieve great things!

What has been the best part of BBBS thus far? I love hearing the match stories every day! It is inspiring and heartwarming to see the direct impact that BBBS has on our Bigs and Littles. Meeting everyone on our team has also been fantastic!

How do you like to spend your free time? I love supporting local: music, theatre, food, events. I also live in an art gallery and do art curation/pop ups/promotion. I sing in a band called “Andy Pappas with Jukebox Gyro” and I perform in community theatre. I am also involved in Rotary Club, Optimist Club, P.E.O., Kiwanis, Junior League and am a Volunteer Lasagna Chef with Lasagna Love.

Amber is a proud mom to her 25 year-old daughter, Chloe and a proud foster mom to her 15 year-old niece, Marsi.

Luke Sutton

Grants Manager

What made you want to work for BBBS? As someone who has worked in the nonprofit sector most of my career, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands has a well-earned reputation for its culture and being a great workplace. Joining such a great, supportive team and utilizing my skills in grant writing to help serve all the individuals we serve is a fantastic opportunity. I knew one current staff member, Mel, who raved about BBBS and its culture.

What has been the best part of BBBS thus far? The team has been so welcoming and supportive during my transition. Starting a new job can be stressful, but everyone I have interacted with has made my first few weeks amazing. I felt like I was truly part of the team right away and have been able to dive in and learn from a great team.

How do you like to spend your free time? My wife and I have a two-year-old and are expecting our second child in September, so our free time is usually spent outdoors with our son Owen. I also enjoy soccer, so you can usually find me on the weekends at Union Omaha games or in Benson watching my favorite English Premier League team, Tottenham Hotspur. I’m also a massive fan of movies. We recently had the chance to take my son to his first movie (Wonka), so it was a proud dad moment when my son managed to sit and enjoy the movie nearly free of any outbursts.
